Sermon 19 The Lords Church
By Rev. Mark E. Vatcher
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or
persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written:
“ For Your sake we are killed all day long;
We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.”
Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I
am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor
things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing,
shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
(Romans 8:35-39)
His church, made up of His chosen ones (us), His living temples. Whose foundation is
the rock (Jesus) that cannot be shaken. (Hebrews 12:28) “Therefore, since we are
receiving a kingdom which can not be shaken, let us have grace, by which we may
serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear”. His Church (us) have been given
the most precious gift. A gift that was so priceless it is incomprehensible, so precious a
gift that God send His only begotten son to die for us, so that we may be heirs to His
heavenly kingdom. Without such a gift from our blessed Father there would be no hope.
Our fleshly lives could not stand against His righteous judgment. Salvation would be
impossible if it were not for the sacrificial blood of our blessed Saviour Jesus Christ.
Christians are the Earthly Kingdom of Jesus Christ or the Lord’s Church thus making us
citizens of Heaven. Christians are the only people whom profess Jesus Christ as their
LORD and Saviour. Jesus sent by God, bridges the gap between our sinful flesh and the
merciful loving God in Heaven. Jesus washes away our sins by His precious blood,
making us pure as snow. “Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved,
clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear
with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another.
Forgive as the Lord forgave you.” (Colossians 3:12-13) Our purpose here is to glorify
God, and doing His will in our blessed lives. Let us always remember that is why we
are here, so enjoy your life and live according to His divine purpose. Always
remember this “The LORD is good to those whose hope is in Him, to the one who
seeks Him” (Lamentations 3:25), and we His chosen ones can attest to that! Let us pray:
LORD God Almighty! Today we give thanks for Your blessings and rejoice in
remembrance of Your holiness. Let us all celebrate with songs of joy. For we know
You made this day for us to enjoy. Help us forget the cares of this world and fill our
hearts with Your light. May all Your blessings fall upon us and may we always grow
closer to You LORD. Glory to You LORD, in Jesus name we pray. Amen
