Sermon 16 All for His Glory
By Rev. Mark E. Vatcher

So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.
1 Corinthians 10:31

“Let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.”
(Matthew 5:16) As a Christian we hold ourselves to a certain standard, and that standard is given to us
through our blessed Lord Jesus Christ. Knowing we can not be perfect, in our human bodies, we do strive
to be like Christ in our lives daily by utilizing the words and knowledge obtained in the Holy Bible.  As we
apply His word and strive to be more like Jesus, we bring glory to God. All that we do our words, thoughts,
and actions are for His glory, giving Jesus the just praise due to His name.   “I will praise You, O Lord my
God, with all my heart; I will glorify Your name forever.” (Psalm 86:12)

The Earth, Heaven, and the Universe for that matter were created by God. All that is in them are from the
word of God. For by His word blackness was given light and by His word we were made from the dust. God
is the reason we exists, all for His glory, there is nothing you have or could obtain without Him. He is the
reason for everything, and everything both here and in Heaven are for His glory. As we continue our
Christian walk let us stay focused on our one true purpose, which is to glorify Him. Why were we chosen
from all the sinners and called for His purpose? God knew that His chosen would glorify Him and that’s
what we are to do my brothers and sisters, glorify God. How lucky we are to be saved through the blood of
Jesus Christ. God has chosen us to receive the greatest gift we would ever obtain in this life, Salvation
through our Lord Jesus Christ. We are to give Him praise and honor for such a blessed gift. There is no
hope without Him, and He chose us to be a part of His Kingdom forever.

Having obtained this knowledge, as a Christian, gives us a great advantage in our daily lives.  We are no
longer to be the self serving, single minded people we once were, back in our non-believing days. We have
been released from the daily stress and worries of everyday life we were once plagued with. We can trust,
in the Lord, that through our Christian behavior and giving God His just due (praise, honor, and
thanksgiving), good things and continual blessings from heaven will be abundant throughout our lives.  I
can attest to this first hand.  I have received nothing but blessings upon blessings from the time I asked
the Lord Jesus to forgive me and come into my heart. Don’t get me wrong, there has been troubled times
now and again, nothing is perfect except our Lord.  The rough waters have always been smoothed over
through prayer and trusting the Lord. I truly changed from the wretched person I once was, (those who
know me would attest), to a new man who loves the Lord with all my heart, mind, soul, and strength. As the
Lords greatest commandment has commanded to us in, (Mark 12:30) “Love the Lord your God with all
your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.” It wasn’t but though His
good grace that I was called and now serve the Lord our God.  My prayer is that you all do as well. The
saving grace of the blood of Jesus is the only redeeming hope to escape the torment and sorrows of this
life and the everlasting life to come.

At the end of the days when all has been said and done there will be a Judgment for us all, believers and
non-believers. No matter whom you are or what you have done with your life, it is for our Lords greater
purpose (His glory). A purpose He is well aware of but we are in amazement about. So beloved give God
his just due daily by holding firm your faith and trust in Him. Let the fruits of our lips give Him praise,
thanksgiving, honor, and glory. By being His good servants, though your words and actions you will glorify
Him. Practice one of His greatest commandment, “love your neighbor as yourself” (Luke 10:27) also (Luke
6:35)” love your enemies, do good, and lend, hoping for nothing in return; and your reward will be great,
and you will be sons of the Most High. For He is kind to the unthankful and evil.” Be the example to those
non-believers we all have to deal with everyday. I guarantee that the more you struggle to be a good
example the more blessed your life will become. Let us now pray that we can Glorify God by obeying His
word.

Lord God, thank you. We give You all praise and honor for our blessed lives. We are rich maybe not of this
world, but of Your holy kingdom, being heirs to your saving grace. We desire to serve You with our lives
and offer the fruits of our lips to glorify Your Holy Name Lord. We are reminded through Your Spirit in our
lives we are blessed, having Your Spirit with us to comfort us every day is truly a blessing in this material
world. Keep us strong and remind us of the great price of our salvation, let us praise You forever and give
You all the blessed glory forever and ever. Amen
